North West - Christine Weir
Christine Weir, I am the Senior Orthopaedic Practitioner at The Calderdale Royal Hospital. I have been casting for 15 years and qualified in 1996. I am also qualified to teach, in adult education and taught part time at Calderdale College for 3 years. Education is very important to me and that is why I became a Regional Convenor. I wish to promote the benefits of networking and education within the field of orthopaedics and casting. I wish to improve standards and patient care and encourage people to become involved with the AOP. I intend to do this by arranging, twice yearly meetings within the North West of England and North Wales. Is there anyone out there who wants to help me with the offer of venues and speakers? Please get in touch.

My aim is to hold two meetings a year, held throughout the region to ensure that all those involved in Casting have an opportunity to attend a local meeting and network within both a learning and a social setting. This combined with being a visible presence of the association will hopefully encourage more to become members of the AOP. If anybody in the region would like to offer a venue or suggest a speaker for a meeting I would love to hear from them
Regards Stuart

South East - Michael Carlton
Name: Mike Carlton. Place of Work: Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent. Qualified: 2009 Contact Tel: 01634 830000 ext.3340 Email: southeastc@aop-uk.com
I hope to provide opportunities for people in the South East region to come together and discuss their techniques, materials and general practices in a relaxed atmosphere.
It would be great as a region to start to come together and share the knowledge and experiences that we all have in our own areas. If there’s nothing you can learn off of someone, chances are that they can learn something from you!
Please feel free to email me with any questions – we have good facilities here at Medway so I am hoping to run a few study days from here, but if you have room to accommodate a few people on a Saturday at your hospital please let me know and we can branch out – watch this space…
